Eumig Eumigette W Phono

Our litte Eumigette W Phono was designed and produced in Austria. You can play your favorite records with the integrated Dual 295 turntable, of course listen to preferred FM radio station, or stream music from your smartphone via the integrated Bluetooth receiver. Additionally an active sub-woofer has been added to the original speakers for your ultimate sound experience. One thing is for sure: You will fall in love with this perfectly restored jewel of Austrian engineering.

Philips Premiere

This Premiere B6A93A was for sure one of the high end radios which were produced by Philips in the 60s. We have already re-sounded one of these in the past and did a complete re-interpretation of the radio’s design. This time we have taken considerable care to keep this one authentic. This B6A93A has been perfectly restored. To achieve this result we had to completely disassemble the radio. The cabinet was sanded down. A new veneer was glued, stained and finished with a brilliant layer of clear lacquer. Additionally we did a complete rework of the electronics. The FM-receiver was calibrated and the frequency response of the tube amplifiers were optimized. Due to an integrated Bluetooth-Audio receiver the radio supports all state of the art audio sources. For improving the lower frequency response a compact, active sub-woofer has been added.

Hornyphon Rex

Building a radio especially for the 50th anniversary of Radio OE1 was a very big honour for our company. We proudly introduce our Hornyphon Rex which was presented to the public at the 50th anniversary celebration of Radio OE1 in Vienna’s Radiokulturhaus. This special radio is exactly 50 years old and has been completely disassembled and carefully restored. The cabinet has been sanded down and repainted. All plastic parts have been restored to get back the original shine of the 60s. We also did a complete overhaul in technical terms. The tube circuits have been restored and deliver a crystal clear sound again. An integrated Bluetooth Audio Receiver and an external active Subwoofer transform this classic radio into a modern HIFI system. Our Rex was raffled among the participants of OE1’s 50 years anniversary celebration and finally has found a happy new owner who will listen to many more OE1 radio shows in the future.

Eumig 3D Phono

Our Eumig 3D Phono is the big brother of the little Eumigette “W”. This wonderfully restored jewel of Austrian engineering also has two side speakers that ensure a three-dimensional sound experience. Typically, the device was equipped with the Dual 295 or 300 turntable. A very robust and very good sounding drive, which optimally complements the high-quality technology of the Eumig 3D. Due to its restoration, the device was completely disassembled into its individual parts. The clear coat of the cabinet was sanded, polished and shines more beautifully than ever with a wonderful patina. The technology was repaired and works again as it was at the time of delivery. The original speakers have been optimized and complemented with a compact, external subwoofer. The integrated Bluetooth 4.0 audio receiver forms the bridge to new music playback devices. The Eumig 3D Phono – one of the most beautiful phono combination radios of its time!

Hornyphon Belcanto 61

The Hornyphon Belcanto 61 is based on a classic Philips radio chassis of the 60s. The brand Hornyphon was founded in 1923 by Friedrich Horny and taken over in 1936 by Philips. Despite the takeover, Horny retained extensive competences and by the mid-1970s, most of the Philips products for the Austrian market, as well as products of the brand Hornyphon, based on slightly modified Philips technology, were produced in the Horny production facilities in Vienna. Our Belcanto 61 is a Hornyphon original. There is no identical Philips model. The radio impresses with an extremely balanced and powerful sound, which is produced by a correspondingly large Philips Ticoncal full range speaker. The speaker is aligned sideways, but this does not matter if the distance to the radio is adequate. The turntable used was one Philips’ top class products. You could already fine-tune the rotation speed and the tonearm support weight. That was a novelty at the time. The radio has been completely restored to its original state. For this it was completely disassembled, the electronics restored and the turntable serviced. The speaker cover has been replaced and all decorative elements and the cabinet sanded down, polished and sealed. A beautiful radio icon that has been family owned since its manufacture.

Grundig Stereo 3298

In the 60s, the area of HIFI systems began. Our Grundig 3298 definitely sets new standards in sound and design. This radio has an integrated 2.1 loudspeaker set whose frequency ranges are actively controlled and driven by an ELL80 power pentode in push-pull configuration. This special technique has resulted in higher output power and a much more accurate sound. Especially because of all these features, the restoration of this icon was extremely difficult. The 3298 has a much more complex circuit technology than average radios. As with a sports car, many internal components were difficult to obtain or had to be rebuilt from scratch. In addition to these technical challenges, the Grundig was of course also visually refurbished and put into original condition. In the case of this icon an absolute must! To complete this elaborate project, we have combined the 3298 with a suitable Philips compact vinyl player. An absolute dream team! The turntable also has a Bluetooth audio interface and a line-in port so that the system can be combined with all state of the art audio sources or multi-room audio systems. Finally the double is combined with an active subwoofer, which can deliver deep and precise baselines even at higher volume. This project was a big challenge for us. The more satisfied we are with the perfect end result and a happy radio owner more!

Kapsch Superior de Luxe

The Kapsch Superior Deluxe reflects the solid technology and design of the 60s in Austria. The elongated housing of the Superior Deluxe offers sufficient sound volume for the powerful Philips broadband speaker installed in the device. Sonically, the device is characterized by precise bass and very present treble playback. When it comes to the overall design: Understatement was very important here. The processing of the device is consistently good. The materials used correspond to the modern era of the 60s. This is especially visible by the Plexiglas used in the front section. The Superior Deluxe is stained dark and finished with a wonderful clear coat. The device was completely disassembled and cleaned. Defective components were replaced and the clear coat of the beautiful cabinet received a thorough polish. To be able to combine the device also with modern audio sources, a Bluetooth audio interface has been integrated, as well as an active subwoofer. All in all, the Superior Deluxe is a beautiful piece of Austrian radio history and one of the last models which was launched in tube technology on the market.

Hornyphon Musikmeister 57

The Hornyphon MUSIKMEISTER 57 is a high class turntable from Philips. In the special case of the MUSIKMEISTER 57, our experts were able to realize a full restoration of the re-sound category “Supersonic”, as the perfect restoration of this beautiful family heirloom was extremely important to the owner. As part of the restoration, the device was completely disassembled, all brass trim elements were sanded, polished and repainted. The speaker fabric cover has been reupholstered and the clearcoat of the wood sanded, polished and sealed. The aim of a complete restoration is the optical recovery of the device in its original state. Also technically the device has been completely restored. The radio chassis has been cleaned and all defective components have been replaced. In the next step, the sound characteristics of the device were modified. For this purpose, the frequency response was linearized, the speaker system optimized and supplemented with an active subwoofer. In addition, the device has been equipped with a Bluetooth receiver to combine it with modern audio sources. The switching between vinyl and Bluetooth audio source is done automatically by pressing the turntable to transform it to a perfect “plug and play” solution.

Kapsch Melavox

The Kapsch Melavox is a beautiful radio from the 40s and we are particularly pleased with the restoration of it. The icon was restored according to the re-sound package “Sonic” while preserving the patina. The fabric of the speaker cover has been replaced, all controls and the noble wooden case have been cleaned and polished. After this procedure, the device shines again in a completely new shine, but may still tell its story due to its preserved patina. Technically, the Melavox was uncompromisingly modernized, since all cable insulation inside, as with many devices of this age group were already brittle. In addition, the device was originally designed only for medium and shortwave reception, which means only a limited usability nowadays. Among other things, the new technology now offers an integrated Bluetooth audio interface. So the device can now be connected to any modern audio source such as Smartphone, tablet or laptop. Despite the modernization, the operation of the device remains absolutely authentic. Of course, the Melavox can also be switched on and off directly on the device. Even the magical eye shines again in vigorous green and dances again lively to the music just reproduced. Our re-sound package “Sonic” is the perfect variant to make the AM receivers of the 30s and 40s affordable for everyday use. Our Melavox is the proof for it.

Minerva Vanguard

The Vanguard was one of the last models that was produced under the Minerva brand. With its design and technology it was far ahead compared to most competitor products. It was the first radio from Minerva, which, except for the magic-eye, was built entirely in transistor technology. Therefore its extensive sound spectrum and high reception sensitivity of the FM tuner are correspondingly impressive. We have completely overhauled the electronics and restored the radio optically. The result is impressive. The avant-garde icon from the 60s shines again like on the day it was made. In addition, the radio was combined with a Bluetooth interface and an active subwoofer. So there are no limit to its everyday usability. The Vanguard is a beautiful radio that is well worth preserving and which definitely deserves a place in our hall of fame.

Philips Nohurno

The Philips Nohurno was a top-of-the-range radio at the time of its launch. An additional intermediate frequency amplifier stage makes the device particularly powerful. In addition, the largest wideband speaker chassis of the well-known Ticonal series was integrated with two other mid- and high-range speakers in the radio. Due to its restoration, the device was completely disassembled into its individual parts. The clearcoat of the cabinet was sanded, polished and shines more beautifully than ever with a wonderful patina. The technology was repaired and works again as it was at the time of delivery. The original speakers have been optimized and complemented with a compact, external subwoofer. The integrated Bluetooth 4.0 audio receiver forms the bridge to new music playback devices. Our Philips Nohurno – a beautiful device that really leaves nothing to be desired.

WSW Phono Tango

Our WSW Phono Tango is a very special radio. Like the Eumigette “W” Phono, it is a very compact device with beautiful details. In terms of sound, the phono Tango has to offer even more, because in addition to an incredibly well-balanced sound control network, the WSW engineers have managed to integrate a quite powerful Philips broadband speaker next to the turntable in the compact cabinet. The FM receiver and the quality of the radio leave nothing to be desired. The record player’s pickup was equipped with a stereo needle that gently treats every new record as well. In addition to an integrated Bluetooth audio interface, this beauty was of course also supplemented with an active subwoofer. The Phono Tango has a wonderful patina. Over the decades, the clear coat has been given fine hairline cracks, which, after its polish, give it a wonderful structure. All of the trim and knobs were not repainted, but polished in the original finish to keep the radio absolutely authentic.

Kapsch Karat Phono

The Kapsch Karat Phono offers everything a turntable combination device should have. The radio technology is based on the chassis Mondial 3D, which was only installed by Kapsch in the premium radio equipment. Additionally it is complemented with an “all-time-classic”: the Turntable 295 from the House of Dual. After our Supersonic radio service, this beautiful icon was put back into service. As part of the service, the device was disassembled by our experts, cleaned and defective components were replaced. The turntable was mechanically overhauled completely. Brittle rubber parts were replaced. Resinous bearings were cleaned and re-lubricated. Finally, rotation speeds and synchronization were checked, just as it should be in a properly performed turntable service. The noble wooden case of the Kapsch Karat Phono got polished and now shines with a wonderful patina in its original shine. Optically restored and technically in top condition, this beautiful device enters its new life and will again serve its owner for many years.

Eumig Eumigette W

Our little Eumigette “W” is a real Austrian. We have completely overhauled the electronics and restored the radio optically. The Eumigette has a lot to offer compared to its size. The warm and room-filling sound is a real pleasure and is completely sufficient for a medium-sized living room. The sensitivity of the perfectly re-adjusted tuner is as good as on the first day. Due to an integrated Bluetooth interface our Eumigette can be easily connected with any modern audio source. To improve the frequency response in the lower bass range, the radio was combined with an active subwoofer. Visually, the Eumigette speaks for itself. More 50s is not possible! One thing is for sure: this jewel of Austrian engineering will be a pleasure for her new owner.

Our Radione 453W is a beautiful classic. Her cabinet has been extensively restored and shines with all the original controls in its original glory. The inner life leaves nothing to be desired. A new high-end fullrange speaker in combination with the wonderful real wood sound body and a powerful HIFI amplifier delivers a crystal clear sound. Combined with an Airplay or Bluetooth audio receiver (included), any modern audio source (smartphone, tablet or PC) can be combined with the radio. If you ever have a party in your own four walls, the beauty also delivers really rich bass, because a very compact active subwoofer is also included.

Philips Saturn Stereo

The Philips Saturn Stereo represents the zenith of electron-tube technology in radio form. Not only its futuristic design, but also the technical characteristics are impressive. The extremely high-quality tuner provides the powerful push-pull audio amplifier with perfectly prepared audio signals via a transistor stereo decoder. The side loudspeakers produce an extremely precise and sculptural sound image that is unparalleled. As part of our Supersonic tube radio service, the device was completely disassembled, cleaned and defective components were replaced. The impressive wooden case is already a statement for itself and was brought to perfection by a meticulous wood polish. Of course, as usual at Supersonic, the device can also be combined with a Bluetooth receiver or an active subwoofer. The Saturn is a device that seeks its equal. We absolutely had to give this worthwhile coronation of tube radio technology a second life.

Minerva Mirando

We put a lot of love into our little Mirando to transform it back to its original glory. Since the radio was built in the 40s for AM reception only, we have equipped it with completely new technology. Due to an integrated AirPlay or Bluetooth audio interface the little one can now be combined with any modern audio source such as Smartphone, tablet or laptop. A compact active subwoofer (included) provides a balanced sound experience and can easily be hidden anywhere near the radio. The wooden cabinet was carefully restored and shines with an unmistakable patina, which tells the individual story of the little one. The speaker cover was replaced and all decorative elements were cleaned and polished. All in all a real beauty. Our little Mirando hits you right in the heart!

Ingelen Mirabell 57

Our Ingelen Mirabell 57 does not only look great she is also one of the best sounding radios we have rebuild so far. Although engineers where using the same set of standard electron tubes in most of the radios which were produced in the 50s or 60s there are significant differences in sound quality from radio to radio depending on the creativity of the engineers who designed it. The Mirabell 57 is an outstanding masterpiece of engineering. She delivers a very precise base reproduction and has an integrated electrostatic tweeter. Of course we also did a technical overhaul of the tube circuits of this beauty. An integrated Bluetooth Audio Receiver and an external active Subwoofer transform have been added too. The cabinet has been carefully restored and shines again in a wonderful patina. The loudspeaker textile have been changed and several brass parts have been sanded, polished and sealed with a coat of clear lacquer. Now this radio is real eye candy again. By the way – the Mirabell 57 is owned by a family since three generations and after a long sleep in the dusty attic she is doing her duty again in the living room of the same family. This is our mission and our work we enjoy so much.

Philips Serenata

Back in the 50s the Serenata B5A73A was one of the high end radios produced by Philips. Due to this fact we put a lot of effort to keep the look and feel of this radio authentic in its original way. Of course our B5A73A hat to be completely disassembled before we started its rebuild. The clear lacquer of the cabinet had to be sanded down a bit and polished in three steps to get back its brilliancy. The integrated electronics was replaced with brand new circuitry. The original speakers were optimized and supplemented with a compact extern subwoofer to improve the low frequency response of the sound system. An integrated Bluetooth 4.0 Audio receiver is compatible with all state of the art audio sources. To sum it up, this is marvellous radio which really leaves nothing to be desired.

Hornyphon Prinzess

Small but really nice! May we introduce our Hornyphon Prinzess? She waited quite some time below a thick layer of dust for her revival and now her time has come by giving her a “Supersonic” resound. The cabinet of our little Prinzess has been rebuild, several plastic parts have been sanded down and polished, the loudspeaker textile has been replaced and in technical terms the integrated tube circuits have be overhauled. Now she has an integrated Bluetooth Audio Receiver and an external active Subwoofer for applying an extra kick in the base. Beside these new features the Prinzess itself operates like she did at the time of manufacturing. The circuits implemented in this little radio are also used in the bigger model Hornyphon Rex and produce a very balanced sound. A really cool radio – made in Vienna.

Philips Adagio 52

The Adagio 52 from Philips contains top notch radio technology from the 1940s. In this context 40-series Rimlock tubes were used. Since the device is not a FM receiver, we wanted to replace the classic tube circuits by modern micro-electronics, by applying the “Sonic” re-sound package. After testing the radios basic functionality, however, we found that it was still able to receive AM stations very clearly even with the untouched original technology after 67 years. So we decided to keep the classic tube technology by applying the “Supersonic” re-sound package. Every single electronic part which does not apply to specifications has been replaced. The tone control circuits have been modified to provide a wider frequency range and of course the radio has been extended with a Bluetooth-Receiver so that it can be combined with any modern audio source. In addition to the loving restoration of the wooden cabinet, the speaker cover was replaced and all buttons and decorative elements were restored in all details. The Philips Adagio really deserved the elaborate “Supersonic” re-sound package and will perfectly fulfill its mission for the upcoming decades: Proudly receiving radio programs from all over the world!

Telefunken Jubilate S

Our little Jubilate S from Telefunken was lovingly overhauled and handed over the Easter Bunny right on time. The original tube technology has been completely preserved and combined with modern microelectronics, so streaming via Bluetooth is also possible. We have also invested a lot of effort in an optical restoration. Therefore the little one shines again like a star, but there is still the right amount of patina left to pay tribute to the history of the radio, which has been owned by our client’s family since then. The wonderful EM80 fan also shines brightly again and is a real pleasure for the eyes. This little machine is a pleasure to every radio lover.

Philips Bolero 59

The Philips Bolero 59 is a lovingly manufactured and great sounding classic! We completely disassembled the radio, did a clean-up and overhauled the original tube electronics. The cabinet has been extensively restored and the loudspeaker-fabric has been re-covered. The decorative elements shine like brand new again as they have been carefully restored by our experts. By integrating a Bluetooth audio interface and adding an active subwoofer, the Bolero 59 becomes a modern HIFI system. We have given this beautiful classic a new life again for the upcoming decades and count one more satisfied customer. That’s why we love our job!

WSW Musikschatulle 586W

The WSW Kammermusikschatulle was the Austrian radio highlight of the late 1950s. This radio once only adorned the general manager’s living room. It was the flagship of Siemens and Halske and was manufactured in Austria by the Wiener Schwachstromwerke (WSW). The radio presented here was completely dismantled and technically overhauled by us. Additionally it was optically restored to its original state. Therefore, the wooden cabinet was fine-sanded and polished and all the decorative elements were lovingly rebuild. The original fabrics were partially re-sewn and thus preserved. The radio has two front-doors which can be opened and was therefore called Musikschatulle. Thanks to the fabric cover of the front-doors, the radio can also be played when they are closed. Then, however, the magic eye and the dial lighting are switched off automatically. What a nice feature! Another eye-catcher is the turquoise-green WSW logo, which is illuminated as soon as the radio is switched on. In terms of sound, the Musikschatulle is in the absolute top class. The three-way loudspeaker system consists of a woofer from Henry, a broadband loudspeaker from Philips and a capacitive tweeter. The sound is extremely warm and powerful. Due to that fact no improvements were necessary at all, but however the radio was equipped with a Bluetooth receiver, so that modern audio sources can also be connected over the air. The WSW Musikschatulle is not to be found that often these days. It’s a high-class radio that has always been reserved for a small group of people. It is still like this even after more than 60 years. That is why it is a great concern and pleasure for us to be able to preserve these rare icons for our customers.

In contrast to the legendary Musikschatulle, the Domino is the entry-level model of the WSW product range from the 1950s. Nonetheless, it impresses with its beautiful design and great technology. The radio presented here was technically completely overhauled by us and optically lovingly restored. It offers an incredible sound experience in relation to its size. As with all WSW products, the engineers have done a convincing job here. The sound spectrum can be expanded in the high- and low- range by pressing additional treble and bass buttons. The FM tuner also impresses with good sensitivity and high frequency stability. In order to be able to easily connect modern audio equipment, the radio was also combined with a Bluetooth receiver. The WSW Domino is a great eye-catcher for every living room, which offers a warm, room-filling sound with relatively small dimensions. We were able to safe another classic for the coming decades.

Philips 470A

The Philips 470A is a beautiful radio from the 30s. Since it is a medium and long wave receiver only, the old technology has been replaced by modern microelectronics. To keep the look and feel of the radio, it can certainly be controlled by using the original control elements. These controls include switching on and off, as well as volume adjustment. Of course, the dial is also illuminated as soon as the radio is switched on. The 470A can be easily connected to modern audio sources, due to its integrated Bluetooth interface. In addition, the radio provides a line-in connector so that it can be combined to any HIFI or multi-room systems. The radio has a wonderful Bakelite cabinet, which forms an excellent sound. We reuse the original full range speaker and have integrated an additional tweeter to improve reproduction of high frequencies. Additionally the 470A is combined with a compact, active subwoofer in order to be able to reproduce low frequencies perfectly. The radio has been visually restored to its original state. The beautiful Bakelite cabinet shines again in its original glory and the old speaker fabric has been replaced by golden satin. With our Philips 470A, nostalgic flair and vintage sound are guaranteed.

Philips Jupiter 54

The Phillips Jupiter 54 not only impresses with its warm sound, but also with its wonderful cabinet, which is veneered with dark-stained cherry wood. The radio war produced in 1953 and is therefore one of the earlier FM receivers, which is why an ECC81 triode was used instead of the usual ECC85 in successor devices. Due to an 18 cm full-range loudspeaker, which was combined with a capacitive tweeter the radio sounds just great. It is consistently well made and after our extensive restoration, listening to your favorite station is a real pleasure again. Additionally the Jupiter 54 can be combined with any modern audio source due to an integrated Bluetooth interface. For perfect reproduction of the lower frequency range it is combined with an active subwoofer. In addition to the paintwork, all the decorative elements were restored and the speaker fabric was re-covered in a matching weave pattern. The Jupiter 54 is a great classic that will give its owner great pleasure for many years to come.

Hornyphon Prinz 38

The Hornyphon Prinz 38 is a beautiful classic from the 30s. The radio is an AM receiver only, which is why we have replaced classic tube technology with modern microelectronics. Therefore it provides a Bluetooth interface and can be easily coupled with modern audio sources (e.g. mobile phone or tablet). Of course, the Prinz 38 can be operated as originally indented. Switching on and off as well as the volume control are carried out with the original buttons directly on the device. The frequency dial and the magic eye are illuminated accordingly so that the look and feel of the radio is retained. We re-use the brilliant full range loudspeaker and combine it with an additional tweeter which guarantees the distinctive vintage-sound. For perfect bass reproduction, the Prinz has been supplemented with a powerful external active subwoofer, which can easily be hidden within a radius of approx. two meters around the radio. The Prinz 38 is a real eye-catcher. The Bauhaus design in combination with the beautiful real wood cabinet inevitably attracts attention. All decorative elements have been restored, and the speaker cover has been replaced with a beautiful, matching cord fabric. The Prinz 38 is a piece of radio history that was perfectly restored by our experts, in addition to its timeless elegance, now also fulfills its purpose as an everyday HIFI device.

Philips Symphonie

With its plain design, the Philips Symphonie reflects the 1960s. The radio is already a hybrid device that combines tube and transistor technology. The tuner and parts of the demodulator are implemented using transistor and diode technology. The IF amplifier stages and the NF section are using classic, last-generation tube technology. The radio has great Philips full-range speakers that are aligned to the left and right, so-called side speakers. This concept creates a great, spacious sound image which, however, only unfolds at a corresponding listening distance from the radio. Technically, the Symphonie has been completely restored and equipped with a Bluetooth receiver so that modern audio sources can also be connected to it easily. The cabinet and the large plexi-glass front plane were polished. All buttons and decorative elements have been restored. Due to this measures the radio shine again. The Symphony is a beautiful 1960s classic and after our extensive restoration it is back in business for many years to come.

Hornyphon Traviata

The Hornyphon Traviata is a beautiful phono tube-radio from the 1960s. With its beautiful decorative elements and the shiny brass grill that serves as a cover for the side speaker the radio is real eye candy. The turntable is a robust Philips drive that was often built into phono radios. Technically, the radio chassis is more or less the same as that of the Hornyphon Prinzess and represents a good basis for a restoration. By combining it with a Bluetooth receiver, the Traviata can easily be connected to modern audio sources. A compact, external subwoofer ensures that the low frequency range is well reproduced. The turntable was fully serviced. The original crystal system is still used, but the needle has of course been replaced. In addition, the turntable’s velvet cover has been renewed. The beautiful wooden cabinet has been polished and all the decorative elements have been restored. Furthermore, the fabric cover on the front has been replaced by a new fabric with a matching weave pattern. The Traviata is a great all-rounder and after our extensive restoration it will be in service again for many years to come.

Kapsch Hymnus 58

The Kapsch Hymnus 58 is an example of the quality of Austrian radio technology. The radio is not only optically but also technically a top-class item. The excellent sensitivity of the tuner goes hand in hand with an audio amplifier that drives 4 loudspeakers. The radio shown here was in extremely poor condition and therefore had to be restored with great effort. For this purpose, the paintwork of the cabinet had to be partially sanded down, repainted and polished. All decorative elements such as the gold-coloured covers of the side speakers, rotary knobs and buttons had to be sanded down and repainted. Of course, the speaker cover has also been replaced by a new fabric with a matching weave pattern. One of the distinguishing features of Kapsch devices from the 1950s is the flaky paint on the plastic cover around the piano keys. This paintwork must therefore also be renewed. Instead of the golden paint, we decided on a brown-beige colour combination. Technically, this device has also suffered greatly from exposure to cigarette smoke and long-term outdoor use. In order for the Hymnus 58 to function perfectly again for many years, the chassis had to be thoroughly cleaned. Furthermore, all defective components had to be replaced. This project took about three weeks in total and when we look at the radio now we can proudly say that our carefully restored Hymnus 58 reflects the golden radio-era of the 50s again.

Philips Soiree

The Philips Soiree is a great all-rounder from the late 1960s. It is a hybrid radio and already combines transistor as well as tube technology. Next to the beautiful glass front is a solid plastic grill that conceals the wonderful Philips broadband loudspeaker. With the three register buttons integrated in the grill, the best sound setting can be chosen for the respective radio broadcast. The very sensitive FM tuner and parts of the demodulator are built using transistor technology. The NF part was realized with the last generation of tube technology. With its straight lines, the Soiree is a symbol of 60s design philosophy. We have restored the beautiful classic perfectly. By combining it with a Bluetooth receiver, the radio can be combined with modern audio sources. A compact, external subwoofer ensures the perfect reproduction of the lower frequency range. The Soiree is a reliable radio with great sound, as we are used to from Philips.

Minerva Minola 2

The Minola 2 is a beautiful, compact table radio from the 1960s. The tube technology is already integrated on a vertical printed circuit board. In terms of its sound characteristics, the Minola cannot compete with the Minerva radios from the 1950s, such as the Tempo. The device still sounds good, but the exceptional sound of the golden 50s was no longer achieved. In addition, Minerva announced the end of tube technology with the All Transistor, which sounds much rounder again. The Minola was therefore an inexpensive mid-range radio. If someone wanted more he bought the All Transistor. The design of the Minola 2 results from the straight lines of the 60s and fits perfectly in any modern living room. By combining the radio with an active subwoofer and improving the treble reproduction, a thoroughly homogeneous sound can be achieved, which is also comparable to the Minerva characteristics of the 1950s. Of course, a Bluetooth receiver has also been integrated into the device. Our Minola 2 is a great little all-rounder that will do its job again for many years come.

Kapsch Mondial 3D

The Mondial 3D was the best that Kapsch had to offer at the beginning of the 60s. In contrast to the normal Mondial, the 3D has a symmetrical tweeter horn which unfolds its effect via the plastic covers installed on the side. The broadband loudspeaker extends to the front. This concept made it possible to achieve radiation over an angle of 180 °. In addition to the 3D effect, the Mondial is also characterized by a very balanced sound image with great treble reproduction and extremely precise bass reproduction. Although the device was designed and engineered in the 50s, the design is already dominated by the straight lines of the 60s. We have completely restored the Mondial optically and technically. Since the speaker cover was still in very good condition, we did not replace it. All outdated components that no longer meet the specifications have been replaced. In addition, the radio was combined with a Bluetooth receiver. The Mondial is not only an eye-catcher, but also candy for your ears. After our thorough restoration, the rock solid Kapsch technology will be a great pleasure to use for many years to come.

Minerva Tempo

Minerva radios of the 50s are characterized by their fantastic sound properties. In addition to the warm sound, the Minerva Tempo impresses with an excellent bass response in relation to its small size. The presence of the high frequencies is also fantastic and thanks to the unusual feedback concept of the NF part, music can be enjoyed without annoying distortions even at higher volume. As with all Minerva devices, the reception quality of the FM tuner is excellent. We have restored this classic to a perfect optical and technical condition. The paint on the cabinet was sanded and polished, all decorative and control elements restored and the speaker fabric was re-covered. In combination with a Bluetooth receiver, modern audio sources can be easily connected to the radio. Due to the excellent sound properties, the combination with an active subwoofer is not necessary. The Tempo is Minerva technology at its finest and after an extensive restoration the good piece will ensure the perfect music program for many years to come.

Hornyphon Virtuoso 348U

The Hornyphon Virtuoso 348U was built in 1948 and 1949. It is therefore only an AM receiver, but it with a very high sensitivity. Since the owner of the 348U is a vintage-lover and places great value on originality, we have restored the radio to its original condition despite the lack of FM reception. In order to be able to connect modern audio sources (e.g. mobile phone or tablet) to the 348U we have combined the radio with an external Bluetooth receiver. Of course, AM radio reception is still possible, as the original electronics of the radio has been fully restored. In addition, an isolating transformer was built into the 348U to ensure operational safety according to today’s standards. Optically, this classic has also been lovingly restored to its original state while preserving its patina. For this purpose, the cabinet was fine-sanded, polished to a high gloss, all decorative elements were restored and the damaged speaker fabric replaced with a suitable NOS fabric from the 1940s. In this pristine condition, the Virtuoso 348U is a real treat and a radio that, despite its age and lack of FM reception, can also be used for everyday music enjoyment due to its combination with a Bluetooth receiver.

Ingelen 538

The Ingelen 538 was built between 1937 and 1938. The radio is already over 80 years old and therefore a very rare item. Due to its age, of course, the 538 only supports AM and no FM reception. We have carefully restored this beautiful classic technically as well as optically and combined it with a Bluetooth receiver so that modern audio sources (e.g. mobile phone or tablet) can also be connected to it. The technical overhaul of this antique piece is in general more difficult than that of newer models, e.g. from the 1950s. In addition to circuit-related peculiarities that have to be taken into account, some spare parts, such as the electron tubes, are more difficult to obtain. Despite these hurdles, we were able to convert the 538 to its perfect original condition. We have also restored the cabinet with great care, while preserving the beautiful patina, and the damaged speaker fabric was replaced with a suitable one. In this pristine condition, the 538 is an absolute rarity that every radio collector will enjoy. In the early evening, the antenna, which is up to twenty meters long, can be extended to receive stations from all over the world that are still broadcasted in the AM band. You can relax and indulge in the movements of the magical eye. An experience that only a radio from this era can offer.

Kapsch Capella

Our Kapsch Capella is a compact table radio with excellent sound characteristics. The design is based on the clear lines of the 60s. This minimalism is underlined by the speaker cover made of corduroy. The Capella is stained in dark brown and finished with a high-gloss polyester varnish. The front part is stained lighter in color and represents a nice contrast to the darker part of the housing. The overall look is refined with the glossy aluminum caps of the rotary knobs. The sound characteristics of our Capella is absolutely convincing. The clear highs, the round mids and the good presence of the base are absolutely astonishing in relation to the size of the radio. Of course the Capella can be connected to modern audio equipment (e.g. mobile phone or tablet) via an integrated Bluetooth receiver. For all those who are looking for a compact tube-radio with a perfect 1960s design and excellent sound characteristics, the Capella is the right choice.

Kapsch Harmonie

The Kapsch Harmonie is the bigger brother of the smaller Kapsch Capella. The cabinet of the Harmonie has been considerably stretched in length in order to be able to integrate a larger loudspeaker. Thanks to this, the already excellent sound characteristics of the Capella have been improved even further. The design of the Harmonie is again based on the straight lines of the 1960s. The extroverted design elements of the 50s are therefore a thing of the past. By renewing the loudspeaker fabric, polishing the cabinet and restoring all the decorative elements, this radio shines in its original splendor again. Thanks to the integrated Bluetooth receiver, it can be easily combined with modern audio sources (e.g. mobile phone or tablet). The Kapsch Harmonie also leaves nothing to be desired in terms of sound. In contrast to the Capella, the larger oval loudspeaker reproduces the bass even better. This radio is a beautiful classic from Kapsch with the guaranty to satisfy fans of the 60s design era, who also value the well-balanced sound.

Philips Konzertmeister 54

The Philips Konzertmeister was unquestionably the most beautiful phono radio you could buy in the early 1950s. It was also technically ahead of other radios, as it already had an extremely sensitive FM receiver and a total of three loudspeakers, one of which was designed as a capacitive foil tweeter. This enabled the Konzertmeister to reproduce the high frequency range perfectly. The integrated turntable was Philips’ workhorse, which of course could play not only vinyl but also shellac records. Of course, this extremely elegant radio deserved a comprehensive restoration to its original condition. For this purpose, it was completely dismantled, meticulously cleaned and all defective components were replaced. In addition, a Bluetooth receiver has been added so that even modern audio sources (e.g. mobile phones or tablets) can be easily connected to the radio. The cabinet was finely sanded and polished to a high gloss. Decorative elements, buttons lovingly restored and the damaged speaker fabric reupholstered. In this condition, this super phono is an eye-catcher for every radio fan. A real classic of the 50s, which deserved a second life of course.

Philips Ouvertüre

The Philips Ouvertüre is a stunning table radio from the 50s. In addition to the great 3D sound experience thanks to the Philips “bi-ampli” technology, the Ouvertüre also has a lot to offer visually. Above all, the top, which is finished in black clear lacquer and decorated with brass trim, is a real eye-catcher. Of course, this classic deserves to be restored to its perfect original condition by our experts. For this purpose, the radio was completely dismantled, cleaned and technically overhauled. Therefore all defective components (e.g. capacitors, resistors, electron tubes) have been replaced. In addition, a Bluetooth receiver has been integrated so that even modern audio sources (e.g. mobile phone or tablet) can be easily connected to the radio. Of course, conventional FM reception is also possible in excellent quality. Visually, the Ouvertüre also looks like brand new again. To achieve this, the cabinet was finely sanded and polished to a high gloss. All decorative elements have been lovingly restored and the damaged speaker fabric has been renewed. In this state, the Ouvertüre is again a real pleasure for every radio fan and will serve again for many years to come.

Philips Pastorale 58

The Philips Pastorale set the standard in radio technology in the 1950s. The dimensions of this table radio alone suggest that such a luxury item could only be found in the living room of a general manager. The Pastorale represented the spearhead of what was feasible at the time. One reason for this was the ironless push-pull output stage that Philips had brought to perfection in this radio. In contrast to conventional radios, whose output amplifiers were always coupled to the loudspeaker via an output transformer, this transformer has been be eliminated in the Pastorale by using unconventional new high-voltage loudspeakers. Therefore a higher output power was achieved and a previously unknown, crystal-clear sound quality. In addition, two loudspeakers were installed. A large, forward-facing loudspeaker, which mainly reproduced the lower frequency range, and another loudspeaker, which was directed upwards in an additional sound chamber, which could radiate high and medium frequencies in a 270 degree radius. The RF frontend of this radio also has a previously unknown level of sensitivity, i.e. reception strength. We have restored this icon technically and optically to its original state. Due to an integrated Bluetooth receiver, in addition to conventional FM reception, modern audio sources (e.g. mobile phone or tablet) can of course also be easily connected to the device. This radio is extremely rare even today because it was never produced in large numbers. That is why the Philips Pastorale is still a superlative radio today.

Philips Sonate

The Philips Sonate is a beautiful, compact radio from the 1960s. We have restored this classic technically and optically to its original condition by means of an extensive restoration. For this purpose, the case was finely sanded and then polished to a high gloss. Missing trim strips were replaced, the damaged speaker fabric was reupholstered with a new one and the faded Philips logo was re-colored and varnished letter by letter. All decorative elements and the brass caps on the buttons have also been carefully restored. The radio-chassis was completely cleaned and all contacts were removed from corrosion. Furthermore, all damaged capacitors, electron-tubes and resistors have been replaced and the radio was equipped with a fabric power cord. Of course, a Bluetooth receiver has been integrated so that modern audio sources (e.g. mobile phone or tablet) can also be connected to the Sonata without any problems. This radio was brought to us in miserable state and restored to an almost immaculate original condition with a lot of love and patience. A project like this always gives us great pleasure.

Radione 454W

The Radione 454W is the technical successor to the 453W. In contrast to the 453W, the 454W already enables the FM reception, which was a highlight at the time. Even if the wonderful design has hardly changed, the radio has been completely revised technically. The Rimlock tube technology of the 1940s was replaced by the new generation of tubes from the 1950s. Of course, the circuit topology and the layout of the radio-chassis were also changed. We have completely restored the original technology and integrated a Bluetooth receiver. Therefore modern audio sources (e.g. mobile phone or tablet) can be easily connected to the 454W without any problems. The wonderful design of the Radione speaks for itself. We have restored the cabinet and all decorative elements, preserved the original speaker fabric and paid great attention to the authenticity of this beautiful classic. In terms of sound, the 454W also leaves nothing to be desired. This beauty is another highlight of radio history that we were able to preserve successfully.

Siemens 524W

The Siemens 524W is a solid AM receiver that was designed at the beginning of the 1950s. The radio still integrates the tube technology of the 40s, but that does not mean that the 524W is not a technical masterpiece. The Siemens engineers have designed a radio with ingenious circuit topology that is in no way inferior to other radios with newer tube technology of the 50s. We have restored the original electronics, improved the sound of the radio with appropriate modifications and integrated a Bluetooth receiver. Therefore modern audio sources (e.g. mobile phone or tablet) can be connected to the 524W without any problems and it does not matter that the radio does not support FM reception. Additionally we transformed the appearance of the radio to perfect condition. The cabinet was fine-sanded and polished to a high gloss. All decorative elements have been lovingly restored and the old speaker fabric has been replaced with a new one that fits seamlessly into the design of the 524W. Thanks to the job of our experts this radio, which has been around for over 70 years, shines again in its original splendor.

Telefunken Concerto 8

The Telefunken Concerto 8 not only impresses with its massive appearance, but also with its outstanding sound properties. The radio was produced in Germany, ended up in Austria and ultimately, luckily for this icon, at Supersonic for restoration. We have given the good piece a new life, both technically and optically. The cabinet was fine sanded and polished to a high gloss. All decorative elements (e.g. knobs, buttons and brass strips) have been lovingly restored to their original condition. The integrated chassis of the radio was perfectly cleaned, corroded contacts restored and defective, outdated components (tubes, capacitors, resistors) were replaced. Additionally, the Concerto 8 was combined with a Bluetooth receiver so that modern audio devices (mobile phone or tablet) can also be connected to the radio. Of course, FM radio reception is also again possible in crystal clear sound quality. This radio is now in a perfectly restored condition and it will provide many more enjoyable radio listening hours in the next decades to come.
